Bernadsky Valentin Danilovich

(1916–2011)

He was born in 1916 in Ozyany. Soviet, Ukrainian and Russian artist, one of the founders of the modern Crimean painting school. People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1989), People's Artist of the Russian Federation (2003)[3], Honorary academician of the Russian Academy of Arts (2009).
In 1937 he entered the Leningrad Art College.
In 1940, he entered the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture, in the workshop of Boris Johanson.
In 1950 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture and was sent to teach at the Crimean Art College named after N. S. Samokish,
In 1970-1980 — Chairman of the Crimean Organization of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
In 2003, he held a solo exhibition at the Tretyakov Gallery.
He lived and worked in Simferopol.
